Tucker Energy Services, a leading provider of technical solutions for the global oil and gas sector, implemented IAMTech’s iPermit electronic permit-to-work (ePTW) software to unify and modernise their safety systems across 12 operational sites in Trinidad & Tobago.
Tucker’s operations spanned a mix of legacy systems and spreadsheets—resulting in inefficiencies and inconsistent safety protocols. As part of their drive for operational excellence, Tucker sought a centralised solution that could standardise permit and isolation procedures across all sites, improve safety compliance, and eliminate outdated manual processes.
iPermit was configured to support a wide range of permit types across Tucker’s operations. The platform provided a single interface for managing both permits and isolations, replacing fragmented systems like Q-Pulse and paper-based processes. Through iPermit, Tucker achieved real-time visibility, standardisation, and improved control of work activities in the field.
The project was delivered entirely remotely, with a full suite of configuration, training, and user testing phases. Originally intended for a phased rollout, the platform’s early success prompted full deployment across all 12 locations. The implementation was completed in just over 12 weeks.
Within the first two months, over 600 permits were raised and more than 100 users were actively engaged with the system. Adoption was swift and seamless, thanks to iPermit's intuitive interface and ability to replicate Tucker’s required workflows. The platform's success also led to the activation of the isolation management module, further enhancing safety controls across the organisation.
By centralising permit-to-work and isolation management, Tucker Energy significantly increased efficiency, consistency, and compliance across its Trinidad & Tobago operations—solidifying its commitment to safe and streamlined oil and gas operations.
