BP Jupiter – Risk & Insurance Benchmarking Platform

IAMTech worked with BP's Jupiter insurance team to create a bespoke risk assessment and audit platform. The solution was developed to support BP’s self-insurance model by enabling standardised audits and risk scoring across its global network of refineries, chemical plants, and offshore assets.

The Brief

BP required a scalable digital tool to conduct structured safety and risk audits across diverse asset types. The platform needed to support consistent data collection, enable performance benchmarking between sites, and link risk scores to financial exposure and insurance valuations.

The system also needed to be flexible enough to accommodate evolving requirements. It had to be intuitive for global teams to use while maintaining the rigour needed to inform critical insurance and investment decisions.

The Solution

IAMTech delivered a robust, configurable audit management system with intelligent forms, automated scoring logic, and dynamic reporting dashboards. The platform was designed to handle multiple audit types — initially focused on insurance risk but later expanded to include Fire Safety and other operational audits. It allowed auditors to work offline, ensured standardisation across regions, and supported strategic benchmarking across BP’s global footprint. Though the platform was eventually retired, it served for several years as a key tool in aligning operational performance, risk visibility, and insurance strategy.
